Welcome to Clayways
Tucked away overlooking a beautiful meadow mid-way between Nantwich and Whitchurch at the edge of the Cheshire/Shropshire border, Clayways Pottery Studio is somewhere you can slow down, switch off, and enjoy making something gorgeous with clay.
Whether you’re completely new to pottery or you’ve had a go before, you’ll find a warm welcome here. There’s no pressure, no rush, and definitely no expectation to be “good” at it. It's suitable for complete beginners and more advanced potters. We give you the time, space, and plenty of encouragement to enjoy the process.
Our studio is small and friendly, with just a handful of people in each session, so it never feels busy or overwhelming. You’ll have access to everything you need, along with gentle guidance from experienced potters who are always happy to help (or leave you to it if you’re in the flow).
Unlike large, busy studios, Clayways offers small group pottery workshops where you have the time, space and encouragement to develop at your own pace; supported by super-friendly expert tutors at all times.
Our experienced team is always on hand to offer guidance when you need it, whilst giving you the freedom to experiment, explore and enjoy the creative process. We're also here to have fun and make friends too! :)
Many people come to Clayways to unwind, learn a new skill or make thoughtful handmade gifts. Others join us to improve their techniques, develop a portfolio of work or create ceramics to sell through their own small business. Whatever your ambition, we are here to help you grow in confidence and enjoy every step of your pottery journey.
Come and discover why so many people fall in love with clay at Clayways. We would be delighted to welcome you into our studio.
