6-Week Expert Wheel Throwing Course

Our six-week beginner or improver wheel throwing course is designed for potters who want to see real, visible progress.

Over six weekly two hour sessions in our rural Cheshire studio, you’ll work one-to-one with an experienced tutor to refine your throwing technique, improve your consistency and master larger, more ambitious forms.

Each session is shaped around your goals; whether that’s throwing a perfectly even cylinder, turning a beautiful bowl, or tackling your first teapot. We keep classes small and the atmosphere relaxed, so there’s plenty of time for questions, demonstrations and hands-on practice.

You’ll learn to centre confidently, pull walls evenly and finish your pieces with considered forms and glazes. By the end of the course you’ll have a collection of functional, handmade pottery to be proud of; and the skills to keep making at home or in our open studio sessions. It also makes a wonderful gift for the potter in your life.

A six-week course is a thoughtful birthday or Christmas present that gives them something to look forward to week after week. All clay, glazes and firings are included, and there’s no limit on how much you make.
