A hands-on studio session with clay
Our pottery making workshops in Nantwich are for people who want to work with clay, not simply decorate something ready-made. From the first touch of the clay, we guide you through shaping, refining and developing a piece of your own, so the session feels creative as well as practical. Because we cap workshops at eight, there's room to ask questions, get help at the tricky points and still enjoy the shared energy of making alongside other people.
Choose a session and come ready to make
We run two workshops a day across six days, which makes it easier to fit a first visit or regular return around the rest of life. When you arrive, we'll help you settle in, explain the studio approach and support you through the stages of forming and adjusting your piece. If you're unsure how much detail you'll manage, that's normal. We focus on sound steps, steady progress and a finished result that reflects your choices rather than a fixed class design.

Frequently asked questions
Is this pottery making or pottery painting?
These sessions are about making pottery from clay. We guide you through forming and refining your piece, so the focus is on learning how clay behaves and how a pot takes shape, rather than decorating a ready-made item.
Can I join a workshop if I've never used clay?
Yes. Many people come to us for a first try, and we explain each stage in plain steps. You do not need experience to start. Small groups mean we can step in when the clay feels awkward and help you keep moving without rushing.
Will everyone make the same thing in the workshop?
No. We encourage individual pieces rather than one set design for the whole room. We still guide the practical decisions, but you have space to shape something that suits your own taste, ability and ideas for the session.
